The club operates under FAA regulations part 61 and 91, and these regulations dictate the duration of student pilot certificates. More specifically, Part 61.87 (p)(1)(v) states that a 90-day solo endorsement is required in the student's logbook for the make and model of the aircraft to be flown. The club uses this endorsement expiration date for scheduling expiration as a means of preventing unauthorized student pilots from scheduling aircraft. We also require an Annual Flight Review for rated pilots on top of the FAA required Biennial Flight Review.
I understand the complications, but everyone must comply. Submit a member update form, found on our website, to the VP Public Relations or Membership Coordinator a week prior to the expiration. As a club, we want you flying and training as often as possible, but we must regulate our scheduling such that only authorized pilots have scheduling privileges. Take care and blue skies!
